Are you a nature lover and mountain lover? It’s incomplete if you haven’t experienced the sensation of climbing on a mountain that is famous for its natural charm. With an altitude of 3,726 meters above sea level and located in the north of Lombok Island, Mount Rinjani is the second highest volcano in Indonesia. Included in the Rinjani National Park area and surrounded by 76,000 hectares of forest and shrubs is a beautiful landscape for Mount Rinjani.
Access to Lombok Island can be reached by land using a direct bus from Jakarta to Mataram by crossing using a ferry twice (Bali Strait and Lombok Strait), can also be reached by airplane.
Mount Rinjani has a crater with a width of about 10 km and there is a crater lake called Segara Anak lake with a depth of about 230m. With its blue water color like a child of the ocean, the water flowing from this lake forms a very beautiful waterfall and flows through a steep ravine. Many hikers fish in this lake because there are many carp and tilapia.
There are 2 climbing routes to reach the summit of Rinjani, namely the Sembalun Trail and the Senaru Trail. The Sembalun Trail is a favorite path of climbers because although the track is longer, it can save 700 m of altitude.
On the Sembalun Trail, climbers will pass through a vast and beautiful expanse of savanna. There are 3 resting posts on this path, and after post 3 climbers will face a steep climb with a slope of about 60 degrees. While on the Senaru Trail, climbers will pass through tropical forests that are quite dense and steep. Similar to the Sembalun Trail, this path also has 3 resting posts before later reaching the pelawangan post which is usually used as a camping area.
The charm possessed by Mount Rinjani is almost perfect so there is no doubt that Rinjani is an attraction that is able to captivate the interest of foreign and archipelago tourists to climb it. And climbing Mount Rinjani will certainly be a memory and life experience that will not be forgotten.
